Big Cat CARE Excursion!
Big Cat C.A.R.E. Excursion!  (DayTripper)


Looking for a fun and exciting day trip for you and your family?  What could be more exciting than spending several hours in the company of leopards, cougars, lions, tigers, and lemurs? Visit CARE, Bridgeport’s own Center for Animal Research and Education. CARE is open to the public Saturdays and Sundays from 11:00am to 5:00pm with tours on the hour.  For more information visit BigCatCare.org.  After your big adventure head to downtown Bridgeport and grab a sweet treat at Brownie Points Cupcakes and Sweetness before shopping at Butterfield House, T & L Antiques or Terra Cotta Boutique.  Later, enjoy some great home-style cooking at the Atomic Rooster in historic downtown Bridgeport. Lake Bridgeport Fishing Excursion!
Lake Bridgeport Fishing Excursion! (Weekender)

 

Get friends and family ready for some R & R and a cool, guided, Lake Bridgeport Fishing Excursion from North Side Marina and Resort. Escape from work Friday for steaks or trout at Steven Street Grill in Downtown Bridgeport as you make your way to Northside Marina and Resort. Get a good night sleep in your waterfront cottage as your party will be busy catching bass tomorrow morning. Professional Guide Keith Bunch of Lake Bridgeport Guide Service will pick you up at North Side Marina dock for a half day of exciting fishing. Keith will fillet your catch so bring a cooler. Saturday afternoon fine tune your new fishing techniques with the North Side Marina rentals including pontoon boats, paddle boats, canoes and fishing poles. Saturday evening, swing back into Bridgeport for authentic Italian cuisine at Pronto’s Italian Restaurant before your last relaxing night on the lake. Sunday morning return downtown to Steven’s Street Grill for one of the best breakfasts in north Texas.

LBJ Grasslands
The LBJ National Grasslands (Weekender)
 

The LBJ National Grasslands in Wise County include over 20,000 acres for your next adventure near Bridgeport. Set up base camp in a Bridgeport hotel including fantastic accommodations at Comfort Suites, LaQuinta Inn & Suites, Greystone Inn, and Bridgeport Suites.

 

Then set off for excursions on over 75 miles of multiuse trails and 450-plus lakes set in native cross timbers and grasslands. The family favorite 35 acre Black Creek Lake has a picnic area, boat launch facility and walk-in camping sites. Windmill Lake is 10 acres dedicated to fly fishing. TADRA Point is the place for equine enthusiasts.

 

After a day on the trails, choose from Bridgeport’s 24 restaurants for a unique dining experience. Stevens Street Grill serves an amazing Norwegian Grilled Salmon with mixed veggies. Start your second day at Brandi’s Country Kitchen with a big ol’ breakfast burrito and you’ll be primed for another day on LBJ National Grasslands’ lakes & trails near Bridgeport.

During the summer as-well-as other times of the year, Bridgeport abounds with outdoor recreation opportunities for the family!
 
Stock your coolers and picnic baskets at our new Brookshire’s Grocery Store  for a weekend in Northwest Park @ Endeavor Bridgeport.  Experience 300 acres and 25 miles of off-road, rock-crawling trails through oak thickets, over rocky ridges, and down rugged ravines. The park opens every Saturday and Sunday with overnight camping on the second weekend. Your day isn’t complete without rolling to Rock City Burger Company for an artisan burger with fried pickles or homemade chips.
 
If you love water recreation, bring your kayaks and paddle under the tree canopy on the West Fork Trinity River. Bridgeport Falls Paddling Trail is an adventure with Mother Nature so bring your camera for great shots of your family and the wildlife!
 
After your outdoor adventure take a spin through the 50’s at Yesterday’s Texas surrounded by cool memorabilia. Start off with Ba-ba-loo Cheddar Fries then dive into the “Gunsmoke” Ribeye but save room for the famous, skillet-sizzling, Blue Ribbon Apple Pie A la Mode!!
